Aromatherapy and Pharmaceutical Science Came Together at the 7th Lokman Hekim Pharmacy Days
The 7th Lokman Hekim Pharmacy Days Aromatherapy Symposium, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Lokman Hekim University, was successfully held on May 6–7, 2026, at the university’s conference hall with strong academic and professional participation.
Organized in collaboration with the Pharmacists Solution Association and the Association for Integrative Therapies Research (BÜTAD), the symposium focused on the scientific foundations of aromatherapy, phytotherapy, and essential oils, as well as the role of complementary medicine in modern healthcare.
Current Scientific Approaches Discussed in Expert SessionsThroughout the two-day program, academics, healthcare professionals, and industry experts delivered presentations addressing a wide range of topics, including the historical development of aromatherapy, evidence-based healthcare applications, pharmacological properties of essential oils, and patient safety considerations.
Particular emphasis was placed on scientific research, clinical practice, and the importance of evidence-based approaches in complementary healthcare applications.
Students, Researchers, and Industry Representatives ConnectedThe symposium created an interactive environment in which pharmacy students and healthcare professionals could engage directly with experts in the field. Participants gained valuable insight into emerging trends in pharmaceutical sciences and integrative healthcare practices.
The event also strengthened interdisciplinary dialogue by bringing together representatives from academia and the healthcare industry on a common scientific platform.
Advancing Scientific Awareness in Complementary MedicineChaired by Prof. Dr. İlkay Erdoğan Orhan and Prof. Dr. Belma Konuklugil, the symposium contributed to raising scientific awareness of integrative and complementary treatment approaches in pharmaceutical sciences.
With its broad participation and comprehensive scientific program, the event stood out as an important academic platform for evidence-based healthcare discussions and professional development in pharmacy.
