Prof. İlkay Erdoğan Orhan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Lokman Hekim University, received three major awards in June 2026, marking an exceptional month of national and international recognition for her academic achievements.

Pioneer Woman Award
The first recognition came on June 4, 2026, when Prof. Orhan received the Pioneer Woman Award from the International Society of Muslim Women Scientists (ISMWS).
This award highlights her leadership as a woman scientist and her inspiring contribution to research, higher education and international scientific representation.
An Innovative Project for Women’s Health
On June 12, 2026, Prof. Orhan received the Third Place Award in a project competition organized by the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Her award-winning project, titled “An Aromatherapeutic and Innovative Solution for Women’s Health Against Vaginal Fungal Infections Using Nanofiber Technology,” brings together pharmaceutical innovation, nanofiber technology and women’s health-oriented research.
The project stands out as a strong example of how academic knowledge can be transformed into practical solutions with social impact.
IEOM Outstanding Researcher Award
Prof. Orhan’s third award of the month was the IEOM Outstanding Researcher Award, presented on June 24, 2026, by the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International (IEOM).
This achievement is particularly significant as the award was presented for the first time to a researcher from outside the field. It also highlights Prof. Orhan’s interdisciplinary impact and her respected position in the international academic community.
