Lokman Hekim University School of Health Services (SHMYO) held an information event for students and graduates regarding internship and employment processes in Germany on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the LHÜ A Block -1st Floor Conference Hall.
The meeting, attended by second-year students and graduates of SHMYO, presented concrete steps for those aiming to work as healthcare professionals in Germany. Practical details of the process were shared, ranging from how to find internship opportunities and plan the application schedule to evaluating job offers and institutional correspondence.
One of the program's focal points was the correct documentation and sequence for work visa and equivalency processes. Profession-based equivalency channels, waiting periods, how to complete any missing competencies, and document verification steps were explained with examples. The relationship between language proficiency and certification systems was discussed, along with the clinical/practical experience, references, and communication skills that employers prioritize in candidates. Participants gained up-to-date information on interview practice, types of employment contracts, and key points to consider during the job adaptation process.
In the Q&A session, department-specific requirements were detailed, with a particular focus on strategies to accelerate the transition from internship to employment, job posting tracking methods, and short- to medium-term career planning. The SHMYO administration concluded the event by stating that it plans to hold similar sessions at regular intervals for students and graduates aiming for international careers. Thus, the roadmap for those dreaming of working in the healthcare sector in Germany became clearer and translated into actionable steps.
