The program titled “Current Structure of Coaching Education Courses,” organized by the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Lokman Hekim University, was held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in the LHÜ A Block -1st Floor Conference Hall. The program comprehensively addressed the current structure of the coaching education system in Turkey, certification processes, and recent regulations.
Structural Framework of the Education System Evaluated
Within the scope of the event, coaching levels, course application processes, theoretical and practical training modules, and measurement-evaluation mechanisms were evaluated in detail. Participants were provided with up-to-date information on standardization in coaching education, competency-based advancement, and the importance of field applications.
In addition, the applications carried out within the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the digitization processes, and the reflections of legislative changes on coaching education and field practice were discussed.
Current Practice and Future Perspective
The speaker of the program was Şükrü Yılmaz, Director of Sports Education and Research at the General Directorate of Sports Services. Yılmaz shared information about the current operation of coaching education courses based on his administrative and practical experience and made assessments about the development of the system and future plans.
The event was completed with the participation of students and academic staff who wanted to follow current developments in the field of sports education. The program aimed to raise awareness about the structural transformation process related to coaching education.
