On December 22, Lokman Hekim University hosted a special introductory and experiential program for students from Aziz Sancar Science High School. Held at the Vital Simulation Center, the program was designed to provide high school students with hands-on exposure to basic healthcare practices and an opportunity to observe medical procedures in a realistic simulation environment.
Hands-On Exposure to the Healthcare Field
During the program, students were introduced to fundamental concepts of healthcare delivery and gained insight into the daily practices of health professionals. Through simulation-based activities and practical demonstrations, participants were able to observe how theoretical knowledge is translated into clinical practice, enhancing their understanding of healthcare professions.
“White Coat Experience” Program
Organized under the title “White Coat Experience,” the program offered students a symbolic opportunity to step into the role of a healthcare professional for a day. This experiential approach helped participants develop a more concrete understanding of professional responsibilities in the health sector. Throughout the program, students received information on patient safety, basic clinical processes, and the interdisciplinary nature of healthcare teams.
Supporting Early Career Awareness
The event at the Vital Simulation Center was structured to support students’ early career awareness and decision-making processes. By offering a realistic and guided introduction to the healthcare field, the program served as a meaningful example of effective university–high school collaboration.
Lokman Hekim University continues to organize similar experiential programs aimed at helping young students make informed decisions about their future academic and professional paths.
