“Steps Toward the Future” Futsal Tournament Reaches Exciting Final
The “Steps Toward the Future Futsal Tournament,” organized by the Recreational Activities Society under Lokman Hekim University as part of the UNIDES Project and with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, concluded with the final matches. The semi-final and final matches of the tournament were held on May 31, 2025, at the Lokman Hekim University Sports Hall.
The tournament, which took place with the participation of students from public and private high schools affiliated with the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education, aimed to develop young people's athletic skills, instill teamwork awareness, and encourage healthy lifestyle habits. The event, which also sought to enhance interaction between high schools and promote sports culture, was a huge success.
In the tournament, which saw 16 high schools compete fiercely, Ayhan Sümer Anatolian High School faced Gençlerbirliği Sports High School in the semifinals. Gençlerbirliği Sports High School defeated its opponent with a score of 14-0 to advance to the final. In the other semi-final match, İncirli Anadolu High School defeated Mamak Science High School 5-4 to secure their place in the final.
Mamak Science High School and Ayhan Sümer Anadolu High School faced each other in the third-place match. Ayhan Sümer Anadolu High School won the match 4-2 to finish the tournament in third place.
In the highly anticipated final match, Gençlerbirliği Sports High School defeated İncirli Anadolu High School with a score of 5-1 to become the tournament champion. Throughout the match, the spirit of fair play and teamwork stood out, while the students' performance, showcasing the unifying power of sports, received full marks from the audience.
At the end of the tournament, awards were presented to the top-performing teams, and all participating schools were thanked for their involvement. This meaningful event, which contributed to both the athletic and social development of the students, became an unforgettable experience for the young participants.
