The final year of medical school, known as the internship period, represents the most critical transition from undergraduate medical education to independent clinical practice. During this stage, future physicians are expected to consolidate their knowledge and skills while achieving competence in managing complex clinical cases, responding to emergencies, and assuming professional responsibility.
The “Ready for Medical Practice” Program, organized by Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Medicine, has been developed in response to requests from our intern medical students. Designed to reinforce the competencies acquired throughout medical training, the program aims to equip future physicians with more than a diploma—it provides the confidence, clinical competence, and professional readiness required for independent medical practice.
Program Objectives
This intensive five-day program focuses on the clinical scenarios, emergency conditions, and critical decision-making processes that newly graduated physicians are most likely to encounter in their professional careers.
The primary objective is to bridge the gap between theoretical medical knowledge and real-world clinical practice through evidence-based approaches, practical training, and interactive learning experiences. The program is designed to strengthen clinical reasoning, improve procedural skills, and foster the confidence necessary for independent patient management.
Learning Outcomes
Case-Based Clinical Learning
Educational sessions are structured around interactive case discussions rather than traditional lecture-based teaching. Participants will analyze real-life clinical scenarios and develop practical approaches to diagnosis and management.
Hands-On Skills Training
Commonly performed medical procedures will be practiced directly on simulation models under the supervision of experienced faculty members. These sessions are designed to enhance procedural competence, technical proficiency, and clinical confidence.
Practical Clinical Pearls
Participants will gain valuable insights, practical tips, and field-tested approaches directly from specialists across different disciplines. Emphasis will be placed on critical decision-making and essential knowledge that can improve patient outcomes.

Theoretical and Practical Training Sessions: VITAL Simulation Center
Theoretical sessions will be conducted simultaneously in two separate classrooms for each training module.
The program combines interactive theoretical sessions with hands-on simulation-based training.
Theoretical Sessions: 30-minute interactive discussions focused on clinical decision-making and evidence-based practice.
Practical Skills Sessions: 60-minute simulation-based workshops designed to develop procedural competence and clinical confidence.
This blended educational approach ensures that participants can immediately apply theoretical knowledge to realistic clinical situations within a safe learning environment.
