Lokman Hekim University Introduces Hearing and Balance Center and Speech and Language Therapy Center

Lokman Hekim University has added another innovative initiative to its healthcare portfolio by launching the “Hearing and Balance Center” and the “Speech and Language Therapy Center.”

The program began at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in the University's A Block -1st Floor Conference Hall and was attended by Lokman Hekim University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih GÜLTEKİN, Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Mehmet ALTUĞ, academics, students, and guests.

Following the opening speeches, the Hearing and Balance Center was introduced by Dr. Tuğçe Gül ÇAĞLAR. Çağlar stated that the center will play an important role in the early diagnosis and rehabilitation processes of hearing and balance disorders, offering a multidisciplinary service approach with its modern equipment infrastructure and expert staff.

Next, Prof. Dr. Emine Elif ALTUNTAŞ introduced the Speech and Language Therapy Center and provided information about the comprehensive approaches that will be used in the assessment and treatment processes for language, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders in both children and adults. Altuntaş emphasized that the center will also serve as an important training laboratory for developing students' practical skills.

At the end of the program, participants visited the physical spaces of the newly opened centers and received detailed information about the work being done there. Following the visit, guests exchanged ideas about the academic and clinical goals of the centers at a cocktail reception.

With the launch of these two centers, Lokman Hekim University aims to make significant contributions to both academic research and community health services. The university continues to strengthen its mission of training qualified personnel through innovative practices in the field of health.
