The High School Winter School – “Journey to the Heart Under the Microscope – 3” program, organized by Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Medicine, is a two-day hands-on educational program that aims to introduce high school students to the basic science fields of the faculty of medicine. During the program, participants will have the opportunity to examine the anatomical structure, physiological functioning, histological and microscopic features of the heart through academic lectures and laboratory applications.
Program Objective
The objective of this program is to introduce high school students to the basic disciplines of medical education at an early stage, to support their scientific curiosity, and to provide them with the opportunity to experience a university-level practical training environment.
Who Can Participate?
- High school 11th and 12th grade students
- Students interested in medicine and health sciences
Educational Content
The following academic and practical activities are carried out during the program:
- Anatomy Course: Examination of the anatomical structure of the heart
- Physiology Laboratory Applications:
- Heart sounds
- Blood pressure measurement
- Circulatory system applications
- Histology Laboratory:
- Examination of the microscopic structure of the heart (I–II)
- Academic Lessons:
- Muscular structure of the heart
- Electrical conduction system
- Vital Simulation Center Tour
Program Flow
Note: The quota is limited to 20 people. Applications will be evaluated based on grade point average, school coefficient, and reason for participation.
Note: A participation certificate will be issued at the end of the program, and participation is free of charge.
