Lokman Hekim University hosted a colorful and exciting event this year, bringing students together with the magical world of cooking. One of the university's traditional student events, the “MasterChef Lokman Hekim Student Competition,” was held on May 26-27. Aiming to strengthen students' interest in gastronomy, this special event was both entertaining and fiercely competitive.
The Heart of Flavor Beat in the Dietetics Laboratory
The event was held in the modern Nutrition and Dietetics Laboratory located on the first floor of Block A at Lokman Hekim University. The competitions began at 3:30 p.m., with groups of five taking their places at the counter to showcase their skills. The participants tried to impress the jury members with both the taste and presentation of the traditional Turkish dish Kayseri Yağlaması.
All groups raced against time throughout the competition, transforming the laboratory into a professional kitchen. Team members demonstrated great attention and care at every stage of the process, from ingredient preparation to cooking techniques. At times, there was intense hustle and bustle, while at other moments, the team spirit shone through in joyful moments. The jury members carefully evaluated each dish, scoring them based on taste, appearance, hygiene, and presentation.
Champion of the First Day: “Egg” Group
The competition, which took place on May 26, offered the audience a breathtaking gastronomic show with the competition between five ambitious groups. At the end of the competition, the group named “Egg” was awarded first place by the unanimous decision of the jury members for its original presentation and delicious taste.
The team members celebrated their victory with great joy and received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Second Day's Winner: “Doctors” Group
On May 27, the second round of the competition took place, with five different groups taking to the kitchen. In this day of even fiercer competition, the “Doctors” group impressed the jury members with both their organization and the professional touches on their plates. They were thus declared the winners of the second day.
Medal Pride at LHUFEST
The winning teams, “Egg” and “Doctors,” will receive their awards on May 28 as part of the LHUFEST event. The medals, which will be presented during a ceremony on the festival stage, will be an unforgettable memory for the students. Additionally, this competition contributed to the social, cultural, and personal development of the students while adding a unique touch to university life.
