    They are health personnel who can use their knowledge and communication skills in line with the training they receive to inform and prepare patients for all radiological examinations used by the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and to ensure the radiation safety and privacy of the patient during the examination. The aim of the Medical Imaging Techniques programme is to train health technicians who have the knowledge and skills to use medical imaging devices such as conventional and digital x-ray, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, PET-CT and ultrasonography. Students receive the title of "Medical Imaging Technician" when they graduate from this programme. What Does a Medical Imaging Technician Do?

    Applies radiation safety precautions for patients and employees.
    Makes the medical imaging device and environment ready for radiographic examination. Controls the calibration of the devices, informs the relevant persons for timely maintenance and repair.
    Prepares and informs the patient before radiographic examination.
    Performs direct or radiopaque radiography, computed tomography, bone mineral densitometry, magnetic resonance and angiography imaging.
    Performs film developing / printing processes and electronic recording of images.
    Takes part in the storage and disposal of radioactive waste.
    Performs radionuclide imaging and fluoroscopy in the presence of a specialist.
    Performs injection of radiopaque material in the presence of a physician.

      Educational Opportunities After Associate Degree With the vertical transfer exam (DGS) conducted by OSYM, "Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Health Management" can be transferred to undergraduate departments.
