Lokman Hekim University Halal Product Application and Research Center participated in Halal Expo 2024 and the 10th World Halal Summit (WHS) held at Istanbul Expo Center between 27-30 November under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.
The opening of the fair and the summit took place with the speeches of Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, as well as ministers from different countries. The event officially started with a ribbon cutting. The World Halal Summit, organized this year with the theme “Successful Decade in Halal: Shaping the Future with a Common Vision”, brought together the leading names of the sector.
On the second day of the summit, Lokman Hekim University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Gültekin moderated the session titled “Building & Sustainable Halal Infrastructure for Global Growth-2” and discussed the sustainability of the global halal infrastructure. University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Can Türk made a presentation titled “Navigating Halal Studies in Post-Graduate Education: Emerging Challenges and Strategic Opportunities - A Case Study from Lokman Hekim University” in the session “Halal Research and Development: Paving the Way for Innovation”.
Lokman Hekim University took part in the fair with the stand of Halal Product Application and Research Center. The stand hosted many representatives of international organizations such as SMIIC, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, HAK, SASO, GSO, TÜBİTAK. During the meetings with companies providing conformity assessment, inspection-examination, training-consultancy and production services, information was shared about the work in the field of halal.
Hosting hundreds of participants from different countries at Halal Expo 2024, our university had the opportunity to exhibit its expertise in halal products and services at an international level.
