Dr. Esra TÜRKER, a faculty member at the Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences, participated in the 7th International Turkic World Multiple Sclerosis Congress held in Kazakhstan from 30 October to 1 November 2025. Bringing together researchers, clinicians and academics from across the Turkic world, the congress served as an important platform for sharing current scientific developments in the field of Multiple Sclerosis.
During the event, Dr. TÜRKER delivered an oral presentation titled “The Mediating Role of Self-Compassion in the Relationship Between Perceived Stress and Death Anxiety in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis.” Her presentation examined the interaction between psychological variables such as stress and death anxiety, and highlighted the potential mediating role of self-compassion in improving the psychological well-being of individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis. The findings offer valuable insights for both clinical practice and future research on psychosocial aspects of chronic neurological disorders.
Dr. TÜRKER's contribution enhanced the international visibility of her ongoing work at the intersection of neuroscience, psychology and chronic disease management, while also fostering opportunities for new scientific collaborations.
