The event 'Our Nurses, Our Future,' organized by the Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department of Lokman Hekim University, has concluded.
On the first day of the event, held on May 9-10, 2024, after the national anthem and a moment of silence, opening speeches were delivered by the Head of the Nursing Department, Prof. Dr. Belgin AKIN, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatih GÜLTEKİN, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mehmet ALTUĞ. Following the opening speeches, Dr. Hümeyra ZENGİN, Representative of the Turkish Nurses Association and Director of Nursing Services at Hacettepe University Adult Hospital, presented on the topic of 'The Economic Power of Care.'
During a break filled with entertainment provided by a folk dance group, and following the performance, Prof. Dr. Seygül DUYGULU, Specialist Nurse Tekmile KÖSE, and our Master's student Merve Nur ACAR, delivered valuable speeches under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ayten ŞENTÜRK ERENEL.
After the panel concluded, an exhibition of the award-winning photographs organized by the Nursing Department was visited in the foyer of LHU Block A. The photo exhibition then made way for our panel chaired by Prof. Dr. Fatma ÖZ, where the experiences and works of the students conducting the Nursing Department's Tübitak-2209-A Project were presented in short talks to the audience.
Following the successful completion of the panel, the voting for the photographs in the competition took place. The voting, carried out by our audience scanning the QR codes on the screen, was completed to be announced on Friday, May 10th.
"Our event, starting with a visit to Anıtkabir on Friday, May 10th, continued with the presentation of awards and certificates to our TÜBİTAK 2209-A Project first prize winner Ayşe Özdemir and the winners of the photography contest: Hüsniye Nisa GÜNEŞ, who secured third place, Elif Vefa TUNÇ, who came in second, and our student Rabia DEMİR, who clinched first place. The awards ceremony took place at LHÜ C Block, Amphitheater 111.
After our comprehensive two-day program, social activities, including music performances, traditional dances, and refreshments, were enjoyed with the enthusiastic participation of our Nursing Department students. With the completion of these social activities, the program 'Our Nurses, Our Future' ended successfully.
