An important cooperation protocol was signed between Lokman Hekim University and Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in order to reintegrate individuals under probation into society.
On April 24, 2025, the signing ceremony was held at Lokman Hekim University Rectorate Building; Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor Mustafa Gökçe, Lokman Hekim University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Gültekin, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Zehra Gölbaşı and Prof. Dr. İsmet Şahin, Department of Mental Health Psychiatrists Drs. Prof. Dr. Samet Can Demirci and Burak Erman Menkü, Ankara Probation Director Ebru Yıldırım Kocalar and Deputy Probation Directors Evren Karakoç, Fatih Akkaya and Sinan Gürdal participated.
Within the scope of the protocol; it is aimed to develop joint scientific researches, projects and training programs for probation staff in the fight against addiction, psychosocial support and rehabilitation processes.
This cooperation constitutes a strong example of the holistic and sustainable approach established between the justice system and academic institutions. It will be essential to carry out the activities on a scientific basis, to protect personal data and to ensure the confidentiality of party information meticulously.
Lokman Hekim University continues to contribute to the development of the individual, strengthen social cohesion and support projects that prioritize the public interest through such strategic collaborations.
