Lokman Hekim University One-Pot High School Tournament: A Stage of Friendship and Competition
Ankara's young athletes met at Lokman Hekim University's traditional Single Crucible High School Tournament! The tournament, organized for the 4th time this year, started on Friday, November 29, 2024 with the draw of lots at the conference hall on the 1st floor of our university. The event, where 32 high school teams will compete, is not only a competition, but also hosts moments full of friendship and solidarity.
Throughout the tournament, the excitement will be experienced on the basketball court of Lokman Hekim University NFIT Sports Complex. While young talents will sweat in the five-week organization, the spirit of friendship and fair play will be reflected on the field.
Emphasizing the Spirit of Sports with Opening Speeches
Speaking at the opening of the tournament, ASELSAN General Manager Advisor Mehmet ALDANMAZ stated that sports is not only a physical activity, but also an important value that can guide young people in their lives. Aldanmaz gave the following message to young people:
“Sports is not just a game that determines the winner; it is a way of life that develops personality, friendship and tolerance. This tournament is an excellent opportunity for our youth to gain values that will guide them both on the field and in life.”
Dr. Mehmet ALTUĞ, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lokman Hekim University, drew attention to the multifaceted effects of sports in human life in his speech. Stating that sports is a tool that develops friendship, solidarity, tolerance, health and cooperation, he stated that this tournament is not only a competition, but also a platform that brings the community together.
The tournament is organized with the support of institutions such as the Directorate of National Education, Directorate of Youth and Sports, Türk Telekom and ASELSAN. Prof. Dr. Altuğ emphasized that the event not only develops young people's bodies but also their minds, pointing out the importance of sports in terms of social, psychological and health. He also stated that the aim is to increase young people's access to sports and to discover talented athletes and bring them into national sports.
Prof. Dr. ALTUĞ gave the following message to young people:
“Include sports in every period of your life. Strive to overcome not only your physical but also your mental limits. Do not be satisfied with success, always aim for better. We will continue to increase the place of sports in our lives for a healthy future.”

Every stage of the tournament is made unforgettable by the enthusiasm and excitement in the stands as well as the competition on the field. To date, many teams have strengthened both success and friendship ties with their performance on this platform.
Lokman Hekim University, in this event organized to encourage young people to sports and healthy living, reveals not only a champion, but an organization where the spirit of fair play prevails.
