A meaningful ceremony where white coats met hope took place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Lokman Hekim University. Students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Health Sciences, took their first steps with the White Coat Ceremony, which symbolizes the beginning of their professional lives. The event, which began at 2:00 PM in the A Block -1st Floor Conference Hall of the university, was filled with both emotional and joyful moments.
The ceremony was attended by university administrators, academics, students, and their families. The opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Ayda Gülden PEKCAN, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Prof. Dr. Nilgün BEK, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Fatih GÜLTEKİN, Rector of the University. In their speeches, the academics emphasized the importance of students being educated with scientific ethics and professional responsibility, inspiring the young people by explaining the value of the white coat.
Following this, the students took the stage and presented an enjoyable musical performance consisting of several pieces. The entire hall accompanied the young talents with applause. The hall witnessed moments that brought both smiles and tears to the eyes. One of the most emotional moments of the program was the screening of a two-minute special video collage reflecting the time the students had spent so far and filled with memories.
The moment when the students donned their white coats was the highlight of the ceremony. Each of them felt the pride of wearing the white coat not just as a garment, but as a symbol of knowledge, responsibility, and trust on their journey to becoming nutrition experts.
Lokman Hekim University, through this meaningful event, not only inspired its students but also once again demonstrated its commitment to preparing qualified human resources for the future in the field of health.
