The scientific event titled “Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Approaches in Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Cartilage Lesions, and Rotator Cuff Injuries,” hosted by Lokman Hekim University, was held with the participation of expert academics and physicians in the field.
The event began at 9:30 AM with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Nilgün BEK, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, followed by Prof. Dr. Fatih GÜLTEKİN, our Rector. During the presentations, which were held in three sessions throughout the day, the surgical treatment processes and rehabilitation approaches for anterior cruciate ligament injuries, cartilage lesions, and rotator cuff (shoulder cuff) injuries were discussed in detail.
In the first session, moderated by Prof. Dr. A. Ayşe KARADUMAN, Prof. Dr. Ramazan AKMEŞE presented the current approach to anterior cruciate ligament injuries in athletes. Prof. Dr. Nihan KARATAŞ provided information on conservative rehabilitation practices, while Prof. Dr. Gülcan HARPUT shared important points on the rehabilitation process following reconstruction.
In the second session, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banu ÜNVER, surgical and conservative approaches to cartilage lesions in the knee were discussed. Specialist Dr. Yunus Kesik presented surgical treatment processes, while Dr. Zahide Seda BAKTIR DOĞAN presented conservative approach methods. Specialist Fzt. Neslihan FIRAT concluded the session by explaining the rehabilitation process.
In the third and final session, Prof. Dr. Nilgün BEK moderated comprehensive presentations on rotator cuff injuries. Specialist Dr. Erkan AKGÜN presented an orthopedic evaluation, while Dr. Sibel BOZGEYİK BAĞDATLI discussed conservative treatment options. The session concluded with Prof. Dr. İrem DÜZGÜN sharing the rehabilitation process following rotator cuff repair.
Following the general evaluation and discussion session at 4:30 PM, the event concluded with a group photo. Participants had the opportunity to share current scientific developments and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.
