‘Sexually Transmitted Diseases with Cases’ Seminar was Organised at Lokman Hekim University
Lokman Hekim University (LHU) Faculty of Medicine organised an important event within the scope of pre-graduation training seminars. The seminar titled"Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) with Cases ’ was held on Tuesday, 15 April 2025, between 13.30-14.30 at LHU A Block Conference Hall with the participation of Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Pullukçu, Faculty of Medicine, Ege University, Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, one of the experts in the field.
Content and Objectives of the Seminar
In the event, diagnosis, treatment and prevention methods of sexually transmitted diseases were discussed interactively through current cases. In particular, medical students were informed about the cases they may encounter in their clinical practice. Prof. Dr. Pullukçu made a detailed presentation on the epidemiology, diagnostic processes and treatment protocols of common STDs such as HIV, HPV, hepatitis, syphilis (syphilis), gonorrhoea (gonorrhoea). In addition, the importance of prevention methods and public health awareness was emphasised.
Participants and Interaction
LHU Faculty of Medicine students and academicians showed great interest in the seminar. In the question-answer section, students shared their views on the cases and contributed to an interactive discussion environment. After the event, the students stated that they had the opportunity to reinforce their knowledge about infections that are frequently encountered in daily practice but can be difficult to diagnose.

Lokman Hekim University attaches importance to seminars and workshops to increase clinical experience as well as theoretical knowledge in medical education. In this context, the trainings organised with the participation of guest academicians who are experts in their fields aim to contribute to the professional development of students.
