Information on English Placement Test (PT) by Lokman Hekim University, Foreign Languages Unit
Dear Students,
* The Placement Test (PT), which will be held online at 10:00 on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, is comprised of of 80 multiple-choice questions, taking 60 minutes.
* The relevant link will be sent to your email addresses 15 minutes prior to the exam (09:45).
* The exam will be activated at 10:00 and will end automatically at 11:00.
* The test consists of four sections: listening, vocabulary, reading comprehension and grammar.
* If you answer two-thirds of the questions correctly in the placement test, you will be entitled to take the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) to be held on September 16, 2021.
* If you are eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam (EPE), you must be at the university building for the face-to-face exam on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
* Depending on the number of correct questions answered in the exam, the level you are going to attend the LHU Preparatory Program (A1, A2, B1) will be determined.
* Your exam result and level will be announced on the school website at 17:00 on September 14, 2021.
* In order to determine your level correctly, please answer the questions you are sure about.
Lokman Hekim University Foreign Languages Coordinatorship Information on English Proficiency Exam (EPE)
Dear Students,
* The English Proficiency Exam (EPE), which will be held face-to-face on Thursday, September 16, 2021, consists of the morning (10:00) and afternoon sessions (13:00).
* The morning session consists of Reading, Listening and Writing sections and will last 100 minutes, 40, 30 and 30 minutes, respectively.
* The second session only measures speaking skills. Each student will take the exam on his/her own in the dedicated exam room, and it will take up to 6 minutes.
FIRST SESSION (10:00-11:40)
* The Reading Comprehension consists of two texts. The duration of the exam is 40 minutes for 30 open-ended questions.
* The Listening Comprehension consists of three sections with a total of 30 questions.
* The Writing Section consists of an essay of three hundred (300) words on a given topic to be completed in 30 minutes.
SECOND SESSION (13:00-17:00)
* The Speaking part consists of three sections and will take up to 6 minutes for each candidate.
* In accordance with the list of names arranged in order of surname, each student will take the speaking exam in the dedicated exam room.
* You have to wait for your turn in accordance with the list. The exam slot will not be altered.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS
* If you answer 65% of the questions correctly in the four sections, you will be entitled to start your departmental program.
* The exam results will be announced on the school website at 17:00 on September 17, 2021.
* If you successfully pass the English Proficiency Exam (EPE), you will be exempted from the preparatory program.
