Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences Midwifery, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Audiology Department students wore their white coats, the symbol of purity and cleanliness. There were emotional moments at the ceremony, which started with the participation of our 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of the Midwifery department, which could not be realized due to the pandemic in previous years. Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Fatma ÖZ, who presented the opening speeches, talked about the past and present of the Midwifery profession and touched upon the privileges of the department. Prof. Dr. Fatma ÖZ congratulated all our students who wore their white coats and wished success to our students who took the first step into their professional lives. At the ceremony, which continued with the speeches of Prof. Dr. Bülent GÜMÜŞEL, Rector of Lokman Hekim University, Prof. Dr. GÜMÜŞEL expressed his excitement and happiness and asked our students to give a standing ovation to their teachers and their families. He emphasized that our students should wear their white coats proudly throughout their professional lives. Prof. Dr. Zehra GÖLBAŞI, Head of the Department of Midwifery at Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences, conveyed valuable information about the Department of Midwifery to our students, mentioned the privileges of having white coats, the symbol of purity and cleanliness, from a university like Lokman Hekim University and that our students are lucky, and thanked our students and their families. After the midwifery department students put on their white coats, the ceremony continued with the speeches of Prof. Dr. A. Ayşe KARADUMAN, Head of the Department of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences. Prof. Dr. KARADUMAN mentioned the history of the Occupational Therapy department and said to our students: “Today we entrusted you with your white coats, and with it we said: be transparent, be fair, do not discriminate, be honest, never withhold your helping hand from people”. There were exciting moments as the students of the Occupational Therapy department wore their white coats from the hands of their teachers. Audiology department Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Eylem SARAÇ KAYA told our students that “in the coming days when you will practice your profession, you will heal with the awareness of Lokman Hekim” and congratulated all our students who wore their white coats. There were exciting moments as the students of the Department of Audiology put on their white coats from the hands of their teachers. Prof. Dr. Haldun OĞUZ, Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, said, “We are as happy as you are to wear your white coats. We look forward to the days when you will wear your white coats and work with us” and congratulated all our students wearing their white coats. There were exciting moments as the students of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy put on their white coats from the hands of their teachers. We congratulate all students who put on their white coats today and wish them continued success.
