Lokman Hekim University hosted an important event in the field of mental health. ‘Mental Health Symposium from Occupational Therapy Perspective’ was held on Thursday, 20 March 2025 at the A Block Conference Hall of the university. The symposium addressed multidisciplinary approaches in the field of mental health and discussed different dimensions of mental health from the perspective of occupational therapy.
Experts in the field came together
The symposium included many valuable speakers who are known for their work in the field of mental health and occupational therapy. Participants shared current information and innovative practices on the role of occupational therapy in mental health. During the symposium, many important issues such as Vocational Rehabilitation in Mental Health, Interdisciplinary Cooperation in Addiction and Rehabilitation, Innovative Approaches in Mental Health were discussed.
The Importance of Occupational Therapy in Mental Health was emphasised
In the event, the critical role of occupational therapy in increasing the participation of individuals with mental health problems in daily life activities was emphasised. Detailed presentations were made on how occupational therapists can cooperate with multidisciplinary teams, especially in vocational rehabilitation processes. In addition, how occupational therapy approaches can be used in addiction treatment and innovative applications in this field were shared with the participants.

The symposium was an important information exchange platform for experts, academicians and students working in the field of mental health. The participants stated that the symposium was very productive in terms of both theoretical and practical information and expressed that such activities should continue.
