Within the scope of the Public Health Nursing course application of Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department, 4th grade nursing students completed their practical training in family centers affiliated with Mamak Municipality. The implementation of the course was carried out by faculty member Prof. Dr. Belgin AKIN, Lecturer. See. It was conducted with Nurbanu ODACI and Nurse Feyza KOCAKURT in a total of five centers (Ekin Family Center, Başak Family Center, Necip Fazıl Family Center, Zübeyde Hanım Family Center, Akdere Family Center) with 43 students between 6 March and 22 May 2024. During the implementation, health education and community screening for individuals and groups were carried out simultaneously in five centers.
Within the scope of the application, cardiovascular disease risk factor screening (blood sugar, blood pressure, height, body weight and waist circumference measurements) for adults was carried out by students in the centers. 593 people over the age of 18 who agreed to participate in the screening were screened for cardiovascular disease risk factors. 26% of the participants said they smoked, 47% consumed more than 5 grams of salt a day, 76% consumed less than 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day, 38% said they engaged in moderate-intensity physical activity for less than 150 minutes a week and only 17% reported rarely or never feeling stressed. When data regarding individuals' use of health services are examined; 81% reported that they mostly consulted health services for therapeutic services. When participants were examined according to body mass index; It has been determined that approximately 43% of the population is obese, 31% is overweight, 25% is normal and 1% is underweight. Participants; Approximately 18% of the patients were referred to a health institution according to their blood sugar value and 14% according to their blood pressure value.
During the implementation, a total of 66 health trainings were organized in all centers, including 43 individual trainings and 23 group trainings on various subjects.
Individual trainings were provided on the following topics in line with needs;

· Hand hygiene
· The Importance of Early Diagnosis and Screenings
· Physical activity
· Nutrition
· Pregnancy period
· Family planning
· Menopause Awareness
· Using medicine with care
Group trainings have been prepared to include basic measures recommended by the American Heart Association to improve and maintain cardiovascular health. In addition, different training topics tailored to the needs of the groups were also discussed.
