Students from the Optometry Department of the Health Services Vocational School at Lokman Hekim University gathered for an important training program aimed at developing their professional knowledge and skills. The “Contact Lens Training” program, held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, took place in the Conference Hall on the 1st floor of LHU Building A with high attendance.
The program's instructors were two distinguished professionals with extensive industry experience: DSÜ Lecturer Ercan AKTÜRK and Johnson & Johnson representative Gökhan KARABASMAZ.
Gökhan KARABASMAZ provided information about Johnson & Johnson's current lens technologies and R&D activities. He shared insights on the structure, comfort level, material technologies, and user experiences of the new generation of contact lenses used globally. He also engaged in one-on-one communication with students to answer their questions.
Participants were excited to gain new insights, particularly regarding the practical application of contact lenses and key tips to enhance patient satisfaction. The visuals, sample lens products, and interactive presentation style used during the training made the event even more engaging.
At the end of the program, participation certificates were presented to the students, and commemorative photos were taken. The event made significant contributions to the professional development of the students while also providing them with the opportunity to establish direct contact with industry representatives, thereby guiding them in their career planning.
This meaningful training program served as a strong example of Lokman Hekim University's vision of reinforcing theoretical knowledge with practical application and preparing its students for the professional world with the necessary skills and knowledge.
