Horizontal Transfer

1. Intra-Institutional Transfer: It is the transition of a student to other diploma programs at the same level within the university in which the student is enrolled.

Transition Conditions

  • In order to be able to apply for transfer between diploma programs within the University that accept students at the same level but with different central placement score types, the student's central placement score in the score type valid for the diploma program he / she wants to transfer as of the year he / she took the central exam is not less than the lowest base score of the diploma programs of other universities in the country equivalent to the diploma program he / she wants to transfer.
  • The student must have taken all the courses in his/her program before the semester he/she wants to transfer and his/her GPA must be at least 3.0 for Associate Degree programs out of 4.0 according to the grade system determined by the University. The GPA requirement is not required for students who pass their class at the top of their class.
  • The Board of Trustees has the authority to determine the principles regarding the continuation of scholarships when students who are studying within the scholarship quota in a program of foundation universities transfer.

2. Inter-institutional Transfer: It is the transition from a diploma program in other higher education institutions in Turkey or abroad to an equivalent diploma program within the university.

Transition Conditions

  • The student must have a GPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 for the semesters he / she has completed in his / her own program before the semester he / she wants to transfer.
  • The conversion tables determined by the Council of Higher Education are used to convert the grades obtained according to the quadratic or faceted system.

Vertical Transition

Vertical Transfer: It is to transfer from 2-year vocational school or open education associate degree programs to a 4-year open education or formal education undergraduate program. Vocational School and Open Education associate degree graduates can apply for the DGS exam held by ÖSYM.
