  • ALEJANDRO TEVES

    ARGENTINA

I am a plastic artist, contemporary painter, muralist, graffiti artist and visual arts teacher, I live in the province of Jujuy, in northwestern Argentina.

    About my job,

Most of my work is composed of mixed media paintings on canvas. To make them I use various classical techniques such as drawing and oil and contemporary techniques such as graffiti, airbrushing and digital prints. These are the resources necessary to bring to this world the art that I have built inside of me.

My work shows social reality and ancestral customs. The fragility of nature and the coexistence with    postmodern society is a constant struggle in my work. Show the world as I see it, in color and movement.

Dorry completed the Royal Drawing School 'Drawing Year' scholarship in London in 2017. She has attended artist residencies in Italy, the USA and Wales. Her current working process is influenced by language, place and memory.

"When I take the time to draw a place, I become deeply immersed and connected - every sense is heightened and I feel closely held by the place that holds my attention. I am drawn to depicting the vulnerability of humans in nature - call and response, expanse, hot dust, dancing trees. I am interested in how the Welsh notion of hiraeth influences my recollection of place. I make memory drawings and paintings that try to recapture the sensory immediacy of my outlook as an itinerant in unfamiliar surroundings. othering' potential implicit in the outsiders' gaze makes me uncomfortable. My drawings wrestle with an inability to turn away, they are songs of devotion and non-belonging."

    MARIO B. CARRIZOSA

    MEXİCO

Born in the Oaxacan Mixtec region in 1975, Mario B. Carrizosa has reached a purification of plastic elements in his work that allows him to express himself on canvas and other media to propose a well-defined visual poetic.

His work insists on fantastic landscapes whose main characters are birds, insects, and two-horned animals in whose figures the deer, the antelope, certain goats and elephants are blended. Large trees with red or blue leaves dominate his canvases, under which birds, insects or imaginary animals are sheltered, accompanied by suggestive geometric designs reminiscent of esoteric symbols. Such symbols may also evoke the notion that home can be nomadic as in the case of beings who carry their homes with them.

The matteric composition of this painting is strengthened by the careful handling of figurative elements, whose sharpness is emphasized by the richness of textures and subtle details that give depth and consistency to this meticulous certification of a pictorial technique that is on the rise.

    PETER LIEW

    MALAYSIA

Peter Liew is a full-time fine artist born in 1955 in Perak, Malaysia who has been in the art scene for over four decades. His medium is thick impasto oil on canvas and his instrument of choice is the palate knife, with blades that reach up to nearly a foot long.

Peter Liew is a graduate and a former lecturer at the Malaysia Institute of Art. With his past entrenchment in academia and commitment to art as a full-time artist, Peter Liew demonstrates a great

usage of art theory, philosophy, and technique with his art works.

Themes of his artwork include natural heritage, cultural/architectural heritage and, most recently, life heritage (portraits). The common ground for Peter Liew’s subjects is capture and extraction. He is fascinated with subjects that have the quality of age and beauty (conventional or non-conventional), subjects with element(s) that he sees value in capturing. Using his own creative process of extraction, he removes the element(s) and expresses it at his own leisure by breaking its form and using a mix of colors borrowed or ones that he substitutes with his own. With such a complex process Peter Liew’s artworks look distorted and abstract up close but sharpen into focus and recognition as one is further removed from the piece.

Peter Liew has exhibited his art works locally and internationally.

    VESELA STAMENOVA

    BULGARIA

My work is characterized with the use different media. I do sculpture, graphic, panting, fresco, and ceramics.

An idea created with different materials becomes firm and rich. Thus, it evolves in the best way, and I can express myself completely.

Often my work becomes a subject of discussion which makes me glad proving I have reached my goals.

I am interested in conventional genders and forms of expressions as well as philosophical, mythological, visionary, or simply life themes. They are present in my work mostly as a subtle detail or at times they directly show their story – innocently or dramatically. How ever I am trying to show something new and different from all I have done so far.

I use oil and acrylic paint as well as watercolor. A fundamental technique in my graphic is dry needle. İn sculpture I use welded iron which does not exclude the use of additional metals or any other material. I am always open  to try something new if I believe it will be helpful for the accomplishment of my idea.
