    Occupational therapy is a profession that helps people engage in the activities (occupations) they want and need to do throughout their lives through therapeutic use of daily activities. Occupational therapists promote health by enabling individuals to perform meaningful and purposeful activities. They assist in preventing injury, illness, or disability and help people recover skills needed for daily living.

    Occupational therapy interventions include helping individuals with special needs fully participate in social life, regain skills after injury, and provide support.

    The curriculum for the first and second years generally includes basic medical sciences and compulsory courses mandated by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). The third and fourth years focus mainly on theoretical and practical courses specific to the Occupational Therapy Department. The fourth year also includes field work and clinically focused professional practices.

    Our department includes mandatory professional practice during the summer after the 4th and 6th semesters, and a year-long mandatory professional practice in the 7th and 8th semesters. All professional practices will be supervised by our department's faculty members and conducted at our university hospitals.
