Occupational therapy is a profession that helps people do the things they want and need to do throughout their lives through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations). Occupational therapists help individuals live better lives by promoting health, preventing injury and illness, and improving health.
Occupational therapy interventions include helping individuals with special needs fully participate in social life, assisting people recovering from injuries to regain their skills, and providing support.

How many years does it take to complete the Occupational Therapy programme?
The programme lasts four years and consists of theoretical and practical courses. The language of instruction is Turkish.
What does the Occupational Therapy programme cover?
The first and second year curriculum generally includes basic medical science courses and compulsory courses required by the Council of Higher Education. The third and fourth years focus on theoretical and practical courses specific to the Occupational Therapy Department. In addition, the fourth year includes fieldwork and clinical-based professional practice in our curriculum.

Are there any domestic or international student exchange programmes available in the Occupational Therapy Department?
Erasmus+, Farabi, and Mevlana exchange programmes are available at our university.

Postgraduate education programmes in Occupational Therapy are planned to be established within our university.
Is there a mandatory professional internship in your department?
Our department requires mandatory professional practice during the summer semester at the end of the 4th and 6th semesters, and mandatory professional practice covering the entire year during the 7th and 8th semesters. All professional practice will be conducted at our university hospitals under the supervision of our department faculty members.
