    Occupational therapy is the profession that helps people do the things they want and need to do throughout their lives through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Occupational therapists help the individual to live a better quality of life by promoting health, preventing injury, illness or disability and improving health.

    Occupational therapy interventions include helping individuals with special needs to participate fully in social life, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills and providing support.

    The duration of education is 4 years and the courses are carried out theoretically and practically, the language of education is Turkish.

    What does occupational therapy course content include?

    The first and second year curriculum includes basic medical sciences courses and YÖK compulsory common courses. In the third and fourth years, theoretical and practical courses for the Department of Occupational Therapy are emphasized. In addition, field studies and clinical professional practices are included in our curriculum in the fourth year.

    Is there a compulsory professional practice in your department?

    In our department, there is a compulsory professional practice in the summer semester at the end of the 4th and 6th semesters, and a compulsory professional practice covering the whole year in the 7th and 8th semesters. All professional practices will be carried out in our university hospitals under the supervision of our faculty members.
