The Nursing Department International Relations and Erasmus Commission held an informational meeting titled “Erasmus+ and Florence Network Opportunities” on November 13, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. in Room 111, Block C. Thirty-four students attended the session. At the opening of the meeting, the impact of department students' early exposure to academic and clinical environments in Europe on their career planning was emphasized; the scope of the program and the general framework for the application steps were outlined.

The Erasmus+ section focused on study and internship mobility options. Students received detailed information on the basic criteria considered in the application (overall grade point average, language proficiency, ranking within the department), the functioning of grants and additional support items, how course-ECTS matching is done at partner institutions, and which documents are required for grade/course recognition upon return. Emphasis was placed on correctly reading the application calendar, simultaneously carrying out the letter of intent and academic approval processes, and the channels that can be followed when finding an internship.

During the Florence Network session, concrete examples were shared on the advantages that short-term academic visits, joint workshops, professional development events, and clinical observation/internship opportunities offered through this European network focused on nursing provide for department students. The visibility provided by the network in terms of working with international teams, following the literature in the field, and opening channels for post-graduation collaboration was highlighted.

Participants found answers to their questions on practical topics such as alternative ways to certify language proficiency, points to consider when ranking preferences, equivalence principles for clinical practice hours at partner institutions, and accommodation and transportation planning. The committee concluded the meeting by reminding participants that individual counseling appointments would be available throughout the application periods and that they should regularly check the department secretary's office and the online bulletin board for access to sample letters and forms. Thus, the roadmap for students aiming for international experience through Erasmus+ and the Florence Network has been clarified.
