Protection and Processing of Personal Data
Privacy Notice on the Protection and Processing of Personal Data
Lokman Hekim University takes the necessary technical and administrative measures to ensure that personal data are collected, stored, and processed in accordance with the law. This notice has been prepared in accordance with Article 10 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 in order to inform you about the purposes of processing your personal data, the methods of collection, possible recipients of the data, and your rights as a data subject.
Data Controller
Pursuant to the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698, your personal data are collected and processed by Lokman Hekim University, acting as the data controller, within the scope described below.
Purposes of Processing Personal Data
Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

Conducting educational, research, and administrative activities of the university

Enabling students, employees, and relevant individuals to benefit from the services provided by the university

Fulfilling legal obligations arising from higher education legislation and regulations of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)

Carrying out education, scientific research, publication, and consultancy activities

Managing student affairs, issuing identification cards, and conducting academic and administrative processes

Managing university information systems, performing data analysis, reporting, and statistical studies

Managing internships, educational activities, and practical training processes

Ensuring the safety and security of students, employees, and visitors

Conducting institutional communication activities and providing necessary notifications

Improving academic and administrative processes and managing digital infrastructure
Transfer of Personal Data
Your personal data may be transferred, within the framework of Articles 8 and 9 of the Law No. 6698, to the following parties when necessary for the purposes stated above:

Ministries and authorized public institutions

Judicial authorities

Institutions cooperating with the university

Methods and Legal Grounds for Collecting Personal Data
Personal data may be collected through:

written or electronic applications to the university

university websites and digital platforms
-
social media channels
-
call centers and communication channels
-
printed forms and contracts
-
records obtained from official institutions
The collected data are processed in accordance with the conditions specified in Articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 6698.
Rights of the Data Subject
Under Article 11 of the Law No. 6698, data subjects have the following rights:

to learn whether their personal data are processed

to request information if personal data have been processed

to learn the purpose of processing and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose

to know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred

to request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data

to request deletion or destruction of personal data

to object to results arising from automated processing
-
to claim compensation in case of unlawful processing causing damage
Requests regarding these rights may be submitted to the University in writing or through other methods defined by the relevant legislation. The University will respond to such requests within 30 days at the latest.
