Physiotherapist; in pain and dysfunction caused by injury, disease, congenital disability, movement system disorders or other conditions; It is a health personnel with professional autonomy who plans, implements and re-evaluates and reports the physiotherapy and rehabilitation program for the improvement of function and functional capacity according to the physician's diagnosis by determining the functional limitations, pain, disability and abilities of people with special measurement, evaluation and examination methods, and plans appropriate exercises / preventive programs to maintain the health of healthy people.

The education period of our department is 4 years.

What does the course content of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation include?

The first and second year curriculum generally includes basic medical sciences and compulsory common courses of Higher Education Council. The third and fourth years of the department of physiotherapy and rehabilitation theoretical and practical courses are weighted. In addition, clinical studies within Lokman Hekim Hospitals Group in the 4th grade are included in our curriculum.

In which fields can I continue my postgraduate education after graduating from physiotherapy departments?

Graduates of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Departments can continue their graduate education in fields such as neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, prosthesisorthotics biomechanics, sports health, hand surgery and pediatric rehabilitation, as well as in basic medical sciences such as physiology, histology and anatomy.

Is there a compulsory internship in your department?

In our department, there is a compulsory summer clinical internship at the end of the 4th semester and compulsory professional clinical internships covering the whole year in the 7th and 8th semesters. All internships will be carried out under the supervision of the faculty members of our department, taking advantage of all the facilities of Lokman Hospitals Group.

How did you continue your education during the Covid-19 period?

Our Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution I-II, Turkish Language I-II and Information Technologies courses, which are currently carried out as compulsory common courses, were given via distance education system. During the pandemic process, all our theoretical courses met with our students via distance education system.
