Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future

Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is hosting a meaningful event as part of World Food Day on October 16. Organized in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP), this special event will be held under the theme “Working Together for Better Food and a Better Future” in the 80th year of its establishment.
The event will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Lokman Hekim University campus. The opening speeches will be delivered by leading academics and representatives of international organizations. The opening will feature Prof. Dr. Ayla Gülden PEKCAN, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Lokman Hekim University; Prof. Dr. Nilgün BEK, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; and Zeynep ÖZKAN, Partnership Officer at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Partnership Officer Zeynep ÖZKAN, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Deputy Representative to Turkey Dr. Ayşegül SELIŞIK, and Lokman Hekim University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zehra GÖLBAŞI.
Throughout the event, visual presentations, thematic presentations, and family photo shoots will highlight the World Food Day vision of “a more equitable, healthy, and sustainable world.”
