AUDIOLOGY MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAM WITH THESIS
History
Audiology Thesis Master's Program was opened within the Institute of Health Sciences of Lokman Hekim University, on January 25, 2023, Lokman Hekim University, with the approval of the Senate decision (25.01.2023) and the decision taken at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 22.02.2023.
The program is carried out by faculty members who are experts in the field of audiology. The language of instruction is Turkish.Kazanılan Derece

Admission and Registration Conditions
Having a bachelor's degree in audiology,
Having ALES (SAY/EA) score type and ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by the Health Sciences Institute Board and approved by the Senate of Lokman Hekim University,
To meet the application conditions of Lokman Hekim University Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulations and the Institute of Health Sciences,
Students who meet the application requirements are taken to the scientific evaluation exam (written and/or interview).
Calculation of the overall success grade is made by taking into consideration the ALES score, undergraduate graduation grade point average and the results of the scientific evaluation exam. The student gains the right to final registration within the quota specified according to the overall success grade ranking.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Having a Bachelor's degree in Audiology or an international equivalent diploma.
Qualification Conditions and Regulations
In order to graduate from the Master's Program in Audiology with Thesis, the student must complete at least seven courses, one seminar course and thesis work, with a total of not less than twenty-one credits. Seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The thesis master's program consists of at least 120 ECTS in total, including at least eight courses and thesis work, including the seminar course, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS in one academic semester. 1 ECTS is equivalent to 30 hours of workload.
Purpose of the Program
Following scientific and technological developments in the field of audiology, gaining high-level knowledge, skills and attitudes in education, research and applications, integrating their knowledge with clinical and scientific studies, interpreting the results,
It is aimed to train expert audiologists at national and international levels who continue to learn throughout their lives and contribute to audiology-related training programs.
Audiology master's program; It aims to train expert audiologists who apply high knowledge and skills in the field of hearing and balance required by this field, follow current scientific developments and transfer them to the field of practice, use critical thinking and problem solving skills in their professional practices, and lead the field of audiology. It is aimed that expert audiologists trained in line with these goals will contribute to the elimination of hearing losses and balance disorders, which are among the priorities of our country, and to the prevention and solution of possible risks.Program Yeterlilikleri
Program Learning Outcomes
1. Identifies field-specific learning needs and objectives, embraces lifelong learning, and contributes to quality improvement, vocational training and profession advocacy.
2. Prepares research proposals, takes part in projects, interprets the results of studies by applying statistical methods, writes and presents them at scientific meetings and/or publishes them.
3. Gains the ability to transfer the professional skills, theoretical and practical knowledge gained by following scientific and technological developments in the field of audiology to the field in which he specializes.
4. Identifies and analyzes problems specific to the field in which he specializes, evaluates them in the light of current literature, and produces solutions.
5. Gains the ability to follow oral and written scientific publications at national and international professional and academic levels in a foreign language.
6. Collects and interprets scientific information in line with ethical principles, conducts, manages and acquires the ability to evaluate studies that will guide national and international audiology plans and policies, taking into account the hearing/balance health of the individual and the society.
7. Acquire high-level knowledge, skills and attitudes in education, practice and research, and gain the ability to integrate their knowledge with clinical/practice and scientific studies.

Quantification and consideration
The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the "Course Information Package" Evaluation System prepared by the relevant faculty member/s. Regarding exams and course success grades, the relevant articles of Lokman Hekim University Graduate Education and Examination regulations are applied.
Students are given a "Course Success" grade for each course at the end of the semester they are registered. Course success grade is obtained by evaluating the student's success during the semester (midterm exam, homework, practice, project, laboratory and similar studies) and the general exam together. Program courses must be successfully completed in a maximum of two years with a GPA of at least 2.50.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Audiology Master's program, the student must have passed all the compulsory courses in the program, achieved a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, and had a GPA of at least 2.50 out of 4.00. After completing the courses in the thesis master's program, a student must prepare a thesis related to his/her field, write the results obtained regarding the thesis in accordance with the thesis writing rules of the institute, and defend and pass the thesis orally in front of the jury. Lokman Hekim University must submit the information and documents required in the relevant articles of the Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation to the Institute of Health Sciences. The student's graduation date is the date of the thesis exam in which the master's thesis is accepted.
Working Style
Working style is full time. If necessary, lessons and exams can be held after working hours on weekdays and/or on Saturdays and Sundays.
