  • Admission of Special Students

    (1) Students enrolled in a master's, doctoral, or MFA program may be admitted as special students with the approval of the head of the department/main art department of the institute where they are registered. The exemption procedures for courses taken and successfully passed by students admitted to graduate courses are carried out by the head of the department/main art department of the institute where they are registered. Applications for special student status are not considered as applications to enroll in the program that offers the course(s) to be taken, but as applications to take specific courses.

    (2) Applications for special student status are evaluated by the Head of the Department of the department that offers the course(s) that the candidate has applied to take, taking into account the number of applications made to the programs, the nature and capacity of the course(s) to be taken. The results of the evaluation of applications for special student status are discussed and decided by the relevant Institute Management Board.

    (3) Special students are required to comply with the academic requirements for graduate students in terms of the courses they take.

    (4) Special students who have taken the courses they are registered for once and received their grades will lose their special student status. Those who wish to retake a course or take a new course must reapply for special student status for that course and be admitted and registered. Special students are given a document showing the courses they have taken and their grades, with their special student status clearly indicated. No grade point average is calculated for special students.
