Admission of Special Students

  1. Students who are enrolled in a master’s, doctoral, or proficiency in arts programme may, with the approval of the relevant academic unit within the student’s home institute, be admitted as special students to graduate-level courses offered at other higher education institutions. Courses successfully completed under special student status may be considered for exemption in the student’s home programme. Exemption procedures are carried out by the relevant academic unit of the institute in which the student is formally enrolled. Applications for special student status are evaluated solely for the purpose of enrolling in specific course or courses and do not constitute an application for admission to the full graduate programme offering the course.
  2. Applications for special student status are evaluated by the academic unit offering the requested course or courses. The evaluation takes into account the number of programme applicants, as well as the nature and capacity of the course concerned. Final decisions are reviewed and resolved by the relevant Institute Administrative Board.
  3. Special students are subject to the same academic requirements and course regulations as students formally enrolled in the graduate programme.
  4. Special student status terminates upon completion of the registered course or courses and the issuance of final grades. Individuals who wish to retake a course or enrol in an additional course must submit a new application for special student status and complete the required registration procedures. Special students are issued an official document indicating the courses taken and the grades received, and this document explicitly states the individual’s special student status. A cumulative grade point average is not calculated for special students.
