Aim and Objectives
Amaçlar
- To educate midwives who plan and implement midwifery services aimed at protecting and promoting the health of women, children, families, and society.
- To train professionals who possess critical thinking skills, respect human values, and adhere to professional ethical principles.
- To raise midwives who adopt interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork, and who can effectively use technology.
- To cultivate midwives who embrace the philosophy of lifelong learning and base their actions on evidence-based practices.
Program Learning Outcomes
Bio-psychosocial characteristics and cultural sensitivity:
Possesses fundamental knowledge of human bio-psychosocial characteristics; evaluates women, their families, and their sociocultural environments.
Education and counseling:
Provides education and counseling services sensitive to cultural differences to improve the health of women, newborns, children, and families.
Preconception and prenatal care:
Delivers evidence-based care for the protection and promotion of health and early identification of risks during the preconception and pregnancy periods.
Management of the birth process:
Manages the birth process; independently conducts normal deliveries; and performs appropriate interventions in emergency/risky situations.
Postpartum care and adaptation:
Provides holistic care to women and their families during the postpartum period and supports their adaptation.
Newborn care:
Has the knowledge and skills to provide qualified care for newborns.
Loss or termination of pregnancy:
Provides individualized care in cases of pregnancy termination or loss in accordance with national protocols and ethical principles.
Technology and continuous education:
Integrates informatics and technological innovations into midwifery care; participates in continuous professional development in the field.
Research and evidence-based practice:
Participates in scientific research and projects in midwifery and applies evidence-based knowledge to practice.
Professional collaboration and ethics:
Provides counseling to women and families in service areas, collaborates effectively as a member of the health team, and acts in accordance with laws, regulations, and ethical principles in professional practice.
