Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Lokman Hekim University students, academic and administrative staff are natural members of our library. Every year during the new registration process, automatic member registration is made to the library information system. You can access library resources both on and off campus.
- Each user, regardless of the students, academic and administrative staff of our university, has the right to borrow 5 books at a time.
- The borrowing period for our users is determined as 30 days for academic staff and master's and doctoral students; 15 days for undergraduate, associate degree students and administrative staff. However, you are entitled to two extensions for each book you borrow. If you do not return the borrowed material, a fine of 1.5 TL per item will be imposed as of the day following the end of the borrowing period.
- A replacement for the lost or damaged resource is requested. If the resource cannot be accessed in any way, library officials conduct market research to determine the value of the lost books and other materials, determine the value of the material by taking into account the volume of the material, binding cost, paper quality, transportation costs, and the depreciation of money over time, and submit it to the Rectorate for approval.
- With the "LC and NLM Classification" system used in our library, it is possible to access the books directly. You should first check whether the publication or publications you are looking for are in the library from the "Library Catalog" on our Library's website and get information about its status. You can take the publications whose place number you have determined from the library catalog from the shelf. You can ask for help from the staff for the publications you cannot find.
- First of all, the status of the resource should be checked by scanning again from the Library Catalog computer. The information should be checked to make sure that it has not been borrowed by another user. If the publication cannot be found on the shelf even though it has not been borrowed by someone else, contact the staff at the desk.
- Reference (Ref) and Reserve (RZV) Resources, Periodicals, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Theses, Atlas, etc. can only be used in the library.
- You can access them by scanning the electronic resources under the "Resource Access" tab on our library's web page.
- You can access our library's subscribed databases remotely by following the steps and making the necessary applications on the "Off-Campus Access" page under the "Resource Access" tab on our library's web page.
- If you have a problem while using the library or doing research, you can apply to the counter at the entrance of the library and get help from the relevant library staff. You can send an e-mail to kutuphane@lokmanhekim.edu.trfor your questions.
